Merinos Carpet Ind. & Co. Trading, was established by Erdemoglu Family in 1970 with the name of Erdemoglu Carpet Co. located in Gaziantep city / TURKEY. Merinos started its manufacturing activities by means of 2 rug weaving looms and the name was changed as Merinos Carpet Ind. & Co. Trading in 1998.



Merinos Carpet has made big progresses in terms of branding and it is now a giant establishment exporting carpets to 48 countries. Merinos is the leader of carpet sector in Turkey and takes second place today with its capacity in the world by means of investments and successful marketing strategies since 1990. Merinos is the 139. biggest among first 500 enterprizes in TURKEY by the year 2006.



Merinos exports almost 30 % of its manufacturing to abroad by holding 20 different qualites, 15 different color groups and thousands of pattern types.



Merinos has 3 manufacturing facilities in Gaziantep, closed area of 240.000 sqm on land of 1.000.000 sqm. In Merinos Carpet, more than 2000 people are, and



Besides Carpet, Merinos also produce yarns for its′ production and exports as well. In its yarn manufacturing facilities located at Gaziantep, Followings are manufactured;

-2000 tons/month acrylic yarn

-2.100 tons/month polypropylene yarn

-1.400 tons/month acrylic yarn dyeing

-150 tons/monts Masterbatch for polypropylene



In its carpet manufacturing facilities, 1.500.000 sqm/month machine made carpet are being manufactured on 70 Van de Wiele branded looms.



Merinos group started to manufacture furniture and house textile in its plants in Torbali/ IZMIR at the end of year 2004 . Merinos Mobilya (Furniture) located on closed area of 100.000 m2 in its facilities having total of 600.000 m2 open area. In furniture facilities more than 600 people are employed.



Merinos Mobilya has a plant which is equipped by the most advanced technology in the world. Merinos Mobilya manufactures sofabeds, seating groups, beds, base and home textile in its integrated facilities. Additionally Merinos has started to manufacture dinning room, bedroom and young room groups and modular furniture.



Though Merinos group increases its manufacturing range every passing day by involving in furniture sector, it started marketing integration by means of expert store chains. Today, Merinos Mobilya has 18 main dealers and about 400 showrooms throughout Turkey.



While manufacturing is continued with all its speed in Merinos Mobilya integrated facilities, construction and infrastructure works also continue rapidly.
